Blast Off to SWFL SpaceCon on June 14
13SHARESSWFL SpaceCon is landing in Cape Coral on Saturday, June 14, and it’s shaping up to be one of the coolest fandom events of the summer. Whether it’s comics, cosplay, anime, sci-fi, or gaming, this con is packing it all into one awesome day. It’s happening at the German American Social Club from 10 AM to 6 PM, and I’m already planning how I’m going to hit every corner of the place.
This convention has come a long way since its first run in 2017. It’s grown into something with real energy—something that brings the community together in the best way. One of the things I always look forward to is the vendor hall. Between the rare finds, custom art, collectibles, and indie creators, it’s like a treasure hunt for geeks. And since vendor space sold out early this year, I know it’s going to be stacked with good stuff.
The cosplay at SpaceCon is always next level. Some people go full armor, others just throw on something fun and iconic—but it’s all part of the experience. The cosplay contest is definitely on my list to check out. It’s open to all kinds of costumes and age groups, with categories, prizes, and a lot of hype. Bonus: showing up in costume even gets a discount at the door.
Special guests are also part of the draw. This year, Alex Mai—one of the voices from Funimation—is among the featured guests. I’m hoping to catch a panel or maybe even get something signed. Between the panels, the vendors, and the fan energy, I already know it’s going to be the kind of con that keeps me moving all day long.
Tickets are totally affordable. It’s $15 at the door, or $12 in advance or if you’re dressed in costume. Kids under 12 get in free with a paid adult, and additional kids are just five bucks. That’s a solid deal for a full day of entertainment and nerdy goodness.
There’s even a Family Zone, which keeps things fun and friendly for younger fans. Outside the venue, there’ll be themed show cars on display—real head-turners that usually draw a crowd. I always make time to swing by and check those out before heading back in for more con chaos. And yeah, safety’s taken seriously. Prop weapons? Fine. Anything dangerous? Definitely not.
With everything happening in one packed day, SWFL SpaceCon is one of those events I look forward to all year. It’s local, it’s loud, it’s full of fandoms colliding in the best possible way. I’m gearing up for a day of nonstop fun, killer cosplay, and a few surprises along the way.
It’s going to be Stellar!
