William Harms and Jean-Paul Mavinga Launch White Sky in February
16SHARESWilliam Harms, known for his work on Mafia III and the horror comic Impaler, is teaming up with artist Jean-Paul Mavinga and colorist Lee Loughridge for White Sky, a new dystopian thriller from Image Comics. The series launches on February 18th, 2026.
The premise is straightforward. Five years ago, the sky turned white and the world ended. Now Violet and her father David are forced out of hiding and have to cross what’s left of America toward San Francisco, chasing a rumor of refuge. The problem is that the land is haunted by the dead, and nowhere is safe for the living.
Mavinga describes the book as a story about a small family trying to survive impossible challenges and incomprehensible monsters. The only source of courage they have is each other. Beyond the visual spectacle, every page focuses on one family’s survival. Harms has always been into ghost stories, and the idea came from asking what would happen if the entire world was haunted. From that starting point, it turned into a personal story about a father and daughter trying to stay alive.
The series is being positioned for fans of The Last of Us, The Walking Dead, and 28 Days Later. It’s an apocalyptic survival story set in a world where the threat isn’t just physical danger but something supernatural that’s taken over everything. The debut issue features a variant cover by Eliza Ivanova, who’s worked on Cars 2, Brave, Inside Out, and Coco. White Sky #1 hits comic shops on February 18th and will also be available digitally through Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
