SwampCon Back for February Weekend
8SHARESSwampCon 2026: Return to the Sea is happening Saturday, February 28th and Sunday, March 1st at the J. Wayne Reitz Union on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, and it’s completely free! No admission charge, no badge fees, nothing. You just register online, show up, and enjoy two days of panels, guests, vendors, artist alley, contests, and a maid cafe. How amazing is that?
The event runs both days at the Reitz Union, which is the student union building at UF. Parking information and directions are on their website, plus they’ve got hotel lists if you’re making a weekend trip out of it.
Guest lineup includes some really cool cosplayers and performers. Azazus and El Nerdy Senpai are confirmed, along with Goblin Market, Dom Gold, Sailor Geek, and Sir Spirit Cosplay. They’re still announcing more guests as the event gets closer, so definitely keep checking back.
Artist Alley and Vendor Hall are going to be packed with artists and vendors covering all genres and styles. Whether you’re looking for prints, handmade items, comics, or just want to browse and see what catches your eye, both areas have tons of options. The vendor hall list for 2026 is already posted on their website.
The schedule is live on the SwampCon site with all the panels, performances, lectures, and contests spread across both days. The maid cafe is back, which is always such a fun time. Contests include cosplay competitions and other activities throughout the weekend. Make sure to check the rules if you’re planning to enter anything.
SwampCon has a Discord server where you can connect with other attendees before and during the event. It’s super helpful for coordinating meetups, asking questions, and staying updated on any announcements.
Being hosted by a university student organization gives SwampCon such a different vibe than commercial conventions. It’s run by students for the community, which is why they can keep it free. The focus is on giving everyone access to convention culture without the huge price tag.
