ONGAKU 20XX with Bit Brigade, Danimal Cannon this Saturday
14SHARESThis Saturday, February 29th at The Abbey in Orlando, Florida features a night of video game music and nerdcore presented by Ongaku Overdrive and headlined by a most epic NES speedrun concert.
Bit Brigade hails from Athens, Georgia and specializes in doing live speedruns of classic video games like Legend of Zelda and Metroid – while the band plays the soundtrack of the game in real time. So for this upcoming ONGAKU 20XX, they will be performing the Capcom hit Mega Man 3. That means every stage theme and boss battle and menu jingle will be performed live right as it’s happening in the game.
Joining Bit Brigade will be Danimal Cannon, whose unique brand of chiptune rock has been heard in the popular indie video game Just Shapes & Beats, Richie Branson, who has written and produced many incredible video game and anime raps and has music on the Toonami series Gen:Lock, and central Florida favorites EyeQ and RoboRob.
In addition to a lot of great music, there will also be multiple game setups, prize raffles, Mega Man-themed cocktails, and even birthday cake.
Tickets are available online for $15 until the end of Friday, or $20 at the door. The Abbey is located at 100 S Eola Dr #100, Orlando, FL 32801.
Bit Brigade will also be performing in Tampa on February 28th at Lowry Parcade.
