Lymari Negron : Our first convention was Star Wars Celebration and that’s how I discover the cosplaying.
Leo Nocedo : What was your first cosplay?
Lymari Negron :. Well after We went to the Star Wars celebration years ago, my husband give me a gift. It was a Slave Leía costume. So, that was my first costume.
Leo Nocedo : What are your next 3 cosplay plans?
Lymari Negron : Everything is on hold for now, but I was working on Roserade from Pokémon go. And I brought from a friend a costume from Star Wars “Queen Amidala Lady dress” and I have to make some adjustments.
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever been in a cosplay contest?
Lymari Negron : I went couple times to Miami Super con. I did a small costume contest there and I won a trophy.
Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer sewing, armor making, or wig working?
Lymari Negron : Well I haven’t try to do an armor costume yet. I would los to that soon. So, I prefer for now sewing.
Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to do photoshoots at cons or at specific locations?
Lymari Negron : I don’t have any preference. I like both. At the con or specific location.
Leo Nocedo : Is there a type of character you cosplay frequently?
Lymari Negron : I have a lot from DC. And a some from Star Wars.
Leo Nocedo : Do you have any favorite cosplayers?
Lymari Negron : I don’t have an specific favorite cosplayers, because all of them are my favorite. Every cosplayers work hard on there costume and do a great work. And I learn from every single one of them.
Leo Nocedo : What’s the most detailed cosplay you’ve ever done?
Lymari Negron : Wow, I have Harley Quinn from DC comics injustice. The clothes few details that I had to do it by hand.
Leo Nocedo : What are your top 3 craftsmanship tips?
Lymari Negron :I haven’t have a top craftsmanship yet! It’s all small pieces that’s goes with my outfit.
Leo Nocedo : What is your favorite cosplay you’ve done?
Lymari Negron : Well a have few favorite cosplay that I have done. Love my poison Ivy, Slave Leía and Oola from Star Wars.
Leo Nocedo : What is your worst cosplay “horror” story?
Lymari Negron : Let me think, I don’t remember to have a horror story about my cosplay.
Leo Nocedo : What’s your funniest cosplay story?
Lymari Negron : Well, I was at a costume contest and the juror didn’t ask anything about my costume, just to sing my favorite song. I thought that was funny!
Leo Nocedo : What’s the best in-character interaction you’ve ever had?
Lymari Negron : I love to interact dress as Supergirl!
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever cosplayed with a family member?
Lymari Negron : Oh yes, I had cosplay with my family. We did the Nightmare before Christmas for Halloween. Character from DC and many more characters.
Leo Nocedo : What is your favorite cosplay photo of yourself?
Lymari Negron : That’s is hard to think. I love all the photo that I have from my cosplay. They all different.
Leo Nocedo : What are your go-to stores for cosplay materials/full cosplays?
Lymari Negron : I go to the store to research and find things that I need for my cosplay or if I find something that is similar and is done then I get it. Or if I find a cosplay in a good price and in my budget then yes. I take it.
Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to buy pre-styled wigs or style your own?
Lymari Negron : Oh definitely I prefer the wig already pre-styled. Because I’m bad doing my on hair.
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever had someone mistake you for a different character?
Lymari Negron : Sometime you cross with people that doesn’t know your character. But yes, I had! When I cosplay as Kasumi, they call me Chun li.
Leo Nocedo : List all the cosplays you’ve done.
Lymari Negron : Oh wow! I don’t think I could mention all of them because I’m cosplaying since 2004. And the list grow and grow every time. But I can mention few to start. Supergirl, Poison Ivy, Oola, Mara Jade, Harley Quinn, Slave Leía, Cobra, Spider lady Jane etc…
Leo Nocedo : What’s the biggest con you’ve cosplayed at?
Lymari Negron : My biggest con, were Dragon Con, Star Wars Celebration and Mega Con.
Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer cosplaying characters with props, or characters that you don’t need to carry a prop around all day?
Lymari Negron : It doesn’t matter, I love both. But sometimes when you go we’re the crowd is big it’s hard to walk with big props. But it what make your cosplay looks good.
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever lost a cosplay piece at a con?
Lymari Negron : No, I haven’t lost anything at the con. But sometimes I forget parts at home.
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever bought a cosplay piece at a con?
Lymari Negron : It’s depend. May be contacts, wigs or small things.
Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to cosplay solo or in a group?
Lymari Negron : Either way, I love the group cosplay.
Leo Nocedo : If you had a chance to meet your all-time favorite cosplayer, what would you say to them?
Lymari Negron : We would talked about next plans or projects
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever done a cosplay panel?
Lymari Negron : Yes, I did it in Daytona 2050
Leo Nocedo : If you could tell your past self anything about cosplay, what would you say?
Lymari Negron : If you could tell y28. Well I prefer to make my own cosplay because I know is going to fix me. But sometimes I buy them already done because I can’t find the fabric or is a lot of work. But you risk on buying them already done because sometime is a little bigger on you or small. It’s happen to me before.
Leo Nocedo : What is your ultimate dream cosplay?
Lymari Negron : My ultimate dream is to build a full armor cosplay.
Leo Nocedo : What’s the most difficult cosplay you’ve ever done? (Craftsmanship, wearing of, ect)
Lymari Negron : I Have few cosplay that are difficult to wear are Injustice Harley Quinn (outfit)and Oola (the head piece hurt after couple hours) and Slave Leía(outfit)
Leo Nocedo : What’s the most difficult character makeup you’ve done?
Lymari Negron : Oola is the most difficult character that I have. Because is all body paint and consume time.
Leo Nocedo : What, in your opinion, makes a cosplayer a “pro” cosplayer?
Lymari Negron : I think everyone that cosplay is a good cosplayer. They work hard on their cosplay to make it better and better. And everyone learn to do and work with different materials. And they use the skills to guide others.
Leo Nocedo : What is your favorite part of cosplaying?
Lymari Negron : My favorite part of cosplay is to see how the people are so excited to see their favorite characters moving around them, so they can capture there favorite pictures. And to bring good memories from their child hood.
