Vault Comics Is Going Compact
8SHARESComics come in all shapes and sizes. Giant omnibuses? Deluxe hardcovers? Love them. But Vault Comics has been thinking about something different lately—something more portable, more affordable, more practical. That’s why they’re launching Vault VANTAGE, a new line of compact graphic novels.
Think manga-sized books for Western comics. At 5.5″ x 8.5″, these editions are small enough to actually carry around, but they’re still packed with the complete stories and artwork you’d get from the full-sized versions. It’s not a compromise on quality, just a smarter format. DC and Marvel have been doing compact editions for superhero titles, and Vault saw an opportunity to bring their creator-owned stories to readers in the same way.
Each VANTAGE edition costs $14.99 and contains either a complete series or multiple story arcs. The line was designed for people who commute, people whose shelves are packed, people who want to collect more series without breaking the bank. It’s comics for how people actually live.
They’re launching this month, November 2025 with three titles. Money Shot: Compact Book 1 collects the first ten issues of the raunchy space comedy about scientists exploring the cosmos intimately. These Savage Shores: Compact Edition is the Eisner-nominated gothic horror set on the 18th-century Indian coast. And Witchblood: Compact, Book 1 – The Hounds of Love follows a supernatural road trip through the modern Wild West, complete with witches, vampires, and vengeance.
The format makes sense. These books are portable enough to read on your lunch break. At fifteen bucks, you can try new series without the usual hesitation. They take up a fraction of the shelf space. And for manga readers curious about Western comics, the size will feel instantly familiar.
The first three editions hit comic shops this month, with wider book market distribution coming early next year. Wave Two is already set with Barbaric, Dark One, The Plot, Money Shot Vol. 2, and Vampire: The Masquerade getting the compact treatment.
Vault built its reputation on bold, creator-owned stories. VANTAGE extends that mission by making those stories more accessible. Same storytelling, same art, just repackaged for modern readers. Head to your local shop to check out the first wave.
