Leo Nocedo: How did you discover cosplaying?
Michael Carter : I literally bought a Batsuit for a friend. I was working on War Machine and realized it would take to long. Sooooo. Batsuit lol
Leo Nocedo: What was your first cosplay?
Michael Carter : Batman
Leo Nocedo:What are your next 3 cosplay plans?
Michael Carter : Samurai , Iron man,
Whiplash mk2 as a stilt suit and Joxer the mighty from Xens
Leo Nocedo: Have you ever been in a cosplay contest?
Michael Carter :Yes two. One zombie king at dragon con and an honorable mention for Thor and Lady Sif at megacon
Leo Nocedo: Do you prefer sewing, armor making, or wig working?
Michael Carter :    Armor and mechanical things
Leo Nocedo: Do you prefer to do photoshoots at cons or at specific locations?
Michael Carter : Private
Leo Nocedo: Is there a type of character you cosplay frequently?
Michael Carter : Heros or good guys though Mr Freeze and Von Doom are on my bucket list
Leo Nocedo: Do you have any favorite cosplayers?
Michael Carter :  Too many to list. But mostly folks who make their costumes. Conversations get short when people tell me they buy. Not judging. I have many dear friends who only buy. I Just deeply love and admire fellow builders
Leo Nocedo: What’s the most detailed cosplay you’ve ever done?
Michael Carter :  War Machine and V for vendetta. I tried for detail even cast the belt buckle in pewter.
Leo Nocedo:What are your top 3 craftsmanship tips?
Michael Carter : Measure twice cut once
Do it right the first time if possible
Don’t be afraid to redo it if it’s not right. People notice
Lastly as a bonus. Ten foot rule. I have a three foot rule but 10 is easier lol
Leo Nocedo: What is your favorite cosplay you’ve done?
Michael Carter : Zombie Captain America
Leo Nocedo:What is your worst cosplay “horror” story?
Michael Carter : Picture with William Shatner. Waiting in the heat at dragon. Realize I’ve sweated so heavily in my Daredevil costume it looks like I peed my pants. Put a bag in front of myself and ran back to our room. Literally everyone wanted a picture while I was running away lol

Michael Carter : Dr Ido from Akita Battle Angel. People really loved it

Michael Carter : Hate wigs. Did our own

Michael Carter : Props and masks.

Michael Carter : No

Michael Carter : With wife as a couple

Michael Carter : I don’t know. I go fanboy very easily

Michael Carter : No. Been asked to
Leo Nocedo:Do you prefer to buy or make cosplays?
Michael Carter : Make
Leo Nocedo:If you could tell your past self anything about cosplay, what would you say?
Michael Carter :  I wish I had started ten years earlier.
I would tell myself to follow my heart and go west to learn and work in the movie industry. My folks told me not to.

Leo Nocedo: What is your ultimate dream cosplay?
Michael Carter : Whiplash mk2
Leo Nocedo: What’s the most difficult cosplay you’ve ever done? (Craftsmanship, wearing of, ect)
Michael Carter : War Machine. It weighs literally close to 100 lbs it is beautiful but agonizing on my neck and shoulders
Leo Nocedo: What’s the most difficult character makeup you’ve done?
Michael Carter : Sculpted my Arkham Knight helmet. Symmetry is hard
Leo Nocedo: What, in your opinion, makes a cosplayer a “pro” cosplayer?
Michael Carter : I think everyone who loves doing this is a pro. I admire literally almost every costumer and the work and love going into doing this
Leo Nocedo: What is your favorite part of cosplaying?
Michael Carter :Can I please have a picture. It makes me smile every single time.

I will say yes. Provided covid and other things don’t stop me. I’m so sad to have basically lost what’s going to likely be two con seasons
