Cosplayer of the Week: Ray Strong (TwistedPool and or Car-pool)

Leo Nocedo :  How did you discover cosplaying?
Ray Strong : My first con was Walker Stalker Orlando June 2015. It was there a discovers the joy of not being me.
Leo Nocedo :  What was your first cosplay?
Ray Strong : My first official cosplay was an original character called “Mr. Fix Yo Shit” a handyman for cosplay. I walked the halls of Megacon Orlando 2016 my tool belt filled with glue markers and tapes fixing cosplays that needed on the fly repairs.
Leo Nocedo :  What are your next 3 cosplay plans?
Ray Strong : I am TwistedPool for as reason. I do many varieties of Deadpool. Coming soon Batpool, Funko pop pool , and a very special mashup of Deadpool and poison Ivy
Leo Nocedo :  Have you ever been in a cosplay contest?
Ray Strong : One time only I did not place. I’d rather spend my time interacting with the people and bringing smiles and awkwardness than stand on a stage.
Leo Nocedo :  Do you prefer sewing, armor making, or wig working?
Ray Strong : As I’m just getting into the 3D printing world I think weapons and props are gonna be my favorite part of cosplay work.
Leo Nocedo :  Do you prefer to do photoshoots at cons or at specific locations?
Ray Strong : “On location it Deadpool, what the Heck is he wearing?!” (Said in my best 1900’s reporter voice)
Leo Nocedo :  Is there a type of character you cosplay frequently?
Ray Strong : Really? You are gonna ask me that? Where have you been this whole interview?
Leo Nocedo :  Do you have any favorite cosplayers?
Ray Strong : Yes you and you and yes I see you reading this. I love all my fellow costumers
Leo Nocedo :  What’s the most detailed cosplay you’ve ever done?
Ray Strong : Deadpool from the movie wolverine origins (the one with the mouth sew shut) the mouth makeup and body painting made this my most detailed work.
Leo Nocedo :  What are your top 3 craftsmanship tips?
Ray Strong : 1 – it will go wrong 2 – it will be flawed 3 – no one but you will see the wrong and or flaws
Leo Nocedo :  What is your favorite cosplay you’ve done?
Ray Strong : Deadpool in a bathtub! So fun and people loved it
Leo Nocedo :  What is your worst cosplay “horror” story?
Ray Strong : I’ve never had a bad cosplay experience, I love what I do
Leo Nocedo :  What’s your funniest cosplay story?
Ray Strong : This one time at band camp ….
Leo Nocedo :  What’s the best in-character interaction you’ve ever had?
Ray Strong : Wow so many to choose from! I literally love being in character so much every moment is the new best, every photo taken, every smile giving, every “did he really just say” moment is the best
Leo Nocedo :  Have you ever cosplayed with a family member?
Ray Strong : No my family are lame “normal” people
Leo Nocedo :  What is your favorite cosplay photo of yourself?
Ray Strong : My humble side won’t allow me to answer this

Leo Nocedo :  Do you prefer to buy pre-styled wigs or style your own?
Depends on the date, what do you prefer me in big boy?
Leo Nocedo :  Have you ever had someone mistake you for a different character?
Ray Strong : OMG YES kids and older folks.. “look it’s Spider-Man” WTH does Spider-Man swords and guns? Do I have Jizz leaking from my wrists? NNNOOO !!
Leo Nocedo :  List all the cosplays you’ve done.
Ray Strong : Lmao your kidding right?
Leo Nocedo :  What’s the biggest con you’ve cosplayed at?
Ray Strong : Megacon Orlando it even sounds huge
Leo Nocedo :  Do you prefer cosplaying characters with props, or characters that you don’t need to carry a prop around all day?
Ray Strong : Props with out them your just a gambit with no cards, a wolverine with no … meh who cares what wolverine does
Leo Nocedo :  Have you ever lost a cosplay piece at a con?
Ray Strong : My first time in my movie accurate Deadpool suite I lost a glove (an $80 a pair glove) drove home devastated 2 days later the hotel called and said hey found it. Sigh the relief
Leo Nocedo :  Have you ever bought a cosplay piece at a con?
Ray Strong : No but I’ve bought a S-ton of toys.. what is this an audit?
Leo Nocedo :  Do you prefer to cosplay solo or in a group?
Ray Strong : Solo Deadpool doesn’t work well with other for long. Just ask the X-men
Leo Nocedo :  If you had a chance to meet your all-time favorite cosplayer, what would you say to them?
Ray Strong : Teach me oh great wise one
Leo Nocedo :  Have you ever done a cosplay panel?
Ray Strong :With my con family “The Gotham Underground” you should look them up! Go ahead what are you waiting for this interview isn’t going anywhere. I SAID GO GOOGLE THE THANG!

Ray Strong : Buy parts and make my own from them?
Leo Nocedo :  If you could tell your past self anything about cosplay, what would you say? Start sooner!

Ray Strong :Full Deadpool / Ironman suite

Ray Strong : The people from other cosplayers to kids to grannies. I feel like the world is a stage and you are all forced to watch my show
