Leo Nocedo : How did your group originate?
Sailor Guardians : The group originated after another Sailor Moon cosplay group disbanded and some members wanted to keep the legacy alive of being a just-for-fun, positive group in the cosplay community
Leo Nocedo : how long has your group been together ?
Sailor Guardians : The created the group in August 2020.
Leo Nocedo :What events do you like participating in?
Sailor Guardians : The group is still very new. We have only attended conventions, but hoping to dip our toes in more events. All of our members have so many different talents and strengths and we would love to try new things at different events.
Leo Nocedo : How many cosplayers do you have in the group?
Sailor Guardians : 16 members from all over the Central Florida area.
Leo Nocedo : Do you participate with any charity organizations?
Sailor Guardians : We haven’t yet but we are always open to new things! Some of our members have experience from cosplaying with charity organizations.
Leo Nocedo :Do you host panels ?
Sailor Guardians : This is actually something we are hoping to start doing this year so if you see us hosting a panel at a local con, go check it out!
Leo Nocedo : What is one message you would give to your fans?
Sailor Guardians : Anyone can cosplay. You can cosplay whoever you want no matter what your shape, size, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc. Cosplay is for everyone!
Leo Nocedo : What are your favorite and least favorite venues?
Sailor Guardians : We made our very first convention debut at Holiday Matsuri in 2021 and it was a blast! We appreciated the support from the cosplay community! We are hoping to add a few different con appearances to our list for 2022.
Leo Nocedo : Which famous cosplayer do you admire?
Sailor Guardians : We admire all the different Sailor Moon cosplay groups around the country. Each and every one of them has been so kind to us since the very beginning. It’s so cool that we can cheer each other on as Sailor Moon fans.
Leo Nocedo : What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
Sailor Guardians : The most trouble we have had is having too many cosplay ideas. With a group of 16 creative people, we have come up with so many different cosplay ideas and it can be a challenge to narrow that list down to a few ideas a year.
Leo Nocedo : What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Sailor Guardians : Cosplay is all about having fun! If you start worrying about something with your cosplay or your progress, just remember that this hobby is all about having fun with your friends in a costume.
