Meet Comic Book artist Jose Marzan Jr. at the Lake County Comic Convention!

On Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 10 AM to 5 PM, comic book fans have the chance to meet comic book artist Jose Marzan Jr. at the Lake County Comic Convention. Taking place at the Nathaniel Community Gymnasium, 13806 SR 33, Groveland, Florida 34736, this convention promises to be a day filled with excitement, creativity, and a deep dive into the world of comics. Jose Marzan Jr. is a 41-year veteran of the comic book industry, with a resume that reads like a who’s who of iconic titles and characters. His career spans work with industry giants like DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse, and Disney Comics. Some of the titles that showcase his exceptional talent include Y: The Last Man, The Flash, Action Comics featuring Superman, The Adventures of Superman, Jack of Fables, The House of Mystery, The Justice League of America, Time Masters, Dr. Strange, The Silver Surfer, GI Joe, Marvel Comics Presents, and Roger Rabbit.

Marzan’s work has not gone unnoticed. In 2008, he received two Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards for his contributions to Vertigo Comics’ Y: The Last Man. One award recognized his collaboration with penciller Pia Guerra for Best Penciller/Inker or Penciller/Inker Team, while the other honored Y: The Last Man as Best Continuing Series, shared with fellow creators Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra.

More recently, Jose Marzan Jr. has contributed to DC Comics’ Hellblazer and Batgirl titles, as well as cover and interior illustrations for O’Reilly Media. He also inked Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur for Marvel Comics, demonstrating that his skills continue to evolve and impress. Beyond comics, his paintings have been exhibited in The Society of Illustrators Annual exhibition in New York City, highlighting his versatility and artistic range.
