Since 2002, Megaplex has been Florida’s premier furry arts and entertainment convention, bringing interactive fun and creative performances to Central and North Florida. This year’s event, “Terror at Typhon’s Keep,” promises to continue that tradition from August 30th to September 1st, 2024.
Megaplex’s mission is to celebrate interactive arts and performances, with a primary focus on anthropomorphics and fantasy. The convention offers a diverse array of programming, highlighting everything from fursuiting and costuming to puppetry, improvisational art, and music. Over the years, Megaplex has hosted live concerts featuring professional a cappella groups, rock bands, and even musicals, ensuring that there is something for every attendee to enjoy.
The convention is known for its wide range of events, including Mascot Games, improv sessions, karaoke, live music, dances, stand-up comedy, and various attendee-hosted panels. Each year brings new and unique content, making every Megaplex experience distinct. Attendees can also explore the Dealers Room and Artist Alley or dive into the tabletop and video game rooms. Costuming, particularly fursuiting, is a major highlight, with amenities like a “headless” lounge and dedicated photo shoots to support participants.
In addition to the fun, Megaplex is dedicated to giving back. Each year, the convention raises money for an animal-focused charity.
Megaplex is organized by Florida United Furry Fandom, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The convention is managed entirely by volunteers, with all executives and board members donating their time to make the event possible.
