Wayne’s Comics Podcast #664: Interviews with Mark Maia and Jay Magnum

Are you ready for another fun crowdfunding doubleheader episode this week? In Episode #664, it begins with Mark Maia from So-Called Living, then concludes with the return of Jay Magnum from the excellent Astral franchise, both of which have Kickstarter projects ending soon!

It all kicks off with my fun interview with Mark Maia, who discusses his Kickstarter for So-Called Living Books 3-4. The book is described this way: “So-Called Living is a dark comedy set in a world where the extraordinary is ordinary. Vampires, werewolves, and zombies live among us normies in a world much like our own—well, except for all the vampires, werewolves, and zombies, that is.” We examine how this series came to be, who the various characters are, and what we can expect from Mark in the months ahead!

Then everything wraps up with the return of a favorite here at the podcast, Astral creator Jay Magnum! He has his current crowdfunding project underway on Kickstarter. Here’s the description: “It’s the highly-anticipated FOURTH adventure in the critically-acclaimed Astral series! Action, sci-fi, and humor blend in this high-octane adventure about a disgraced ex-astronaut (Jonathan DeVane), who must assemble a rag-tag team of misfits— including one of the enemy (Lila)— to stop a devastating attack on Earth by malevolent extraterrestrials called “Astrals!’” Jay discusses the latest news in this franchise’s development, who the characters are, and what else he and his team have coming our way soon!
