Okay, let’s get into it because Vincor Origins #1 lowkey ate—and I did not have it on my bingo card for this month. This indie gem is from Fox-Heart Productions (super cute name btw), written by Robie D. Fox and drawn by Bosko, who totally understood the assignment.

So the main dude, Zachary Zabel, is this regular-degular NASA scientist just living his space nerd life, and suddenly—bam—he wakes up as a whole alien. Like, sir. What is happening. Apparently, someone ran experiments on him without asking (rude) and now he’s a Katrixi, which means he’s rocking shapeshifting powers, lightning hands, and Hulk-level strength. And honestly? The glow-up is crazy.

The art? Fire. Straight-up fire. Bosko popped off. Zach’s alien look has this electric blue and red combo that makes every panel feel like a cinematic moment. And the cosmic backgrounds? So aesthetic. If I could screenshot a comic, this would be it.

Enter Mikayla Makenzy, the CEO of Red Eagle Industries—and she’s giving ✨gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss✨ in the most terrifying way. She’s all “Hey bestie :)” while Zach’s like, “You turned me into a space weapon???” Their dynamic is messy in the best way, and I live for the passive-aggressive tension.

Then Chrome shows up—another alien bro who drops this whole plot twist that Zach isn’t just a Katrixi, he’s the Prime Katrixi. Like, the chosen one. “God’s revolver,” whatever that means, but it sounds metal. Suddenly there’s all this lore, and I’m not mad about it. I need a wiki ASAP.

And because this story refuses to chill, we get a full-on boss battle with a brain-eating alien that’s giving major “final form” energy. Zach doesn’t know what he’s doing yet, but he’s still throwing hands and unlocking powers mid-fight like it’s a training montage. Peak main character moment.

Oh—and just so you know, this is a one-shot! Yup, all this drama, action, and chaos packed into one issue. And honestly? It works. The pacing is tight, the characters are memorable, and it still leaves you wondering what could come next. Like, Robie D. Fox, if you ever drop more? I’m pre-ordering instantly.

So yeah, Vincor Origins is giving sci-fi chaos, superhero vibes, and just the right amount of cosmic weirdness. It’s got drama, powers, a morally gray corporate queen, and a dude who’s just trying to figure out why he glows in the dark now. If you’re into anything that feels like X-Men meets Ben 10 but with extra angst and better lighting—add this to your shelf. Immediately.
