Elvis Crashes Into The Department of Truth and It’s Gonna Get Weird

Just when you thought The Department of Truth couldn’t get any wilder, Image Comics said, “Hold my tinfoil hat.” Coming on September 10, 2025, issue #0 is dropping with a brand-new backup story—and it’s dragging Elvis Presley straight into the madness.

This isn’t just a throwaway cameo. This is the first part of a three-part backup story written by Scott Snyder (yes, that Scott Snyder) with art by Joshua Hixson, who knows how to make horror look like it crawled out of your nightmares. They’re diving into the King’s secret history—through the twisted lens of The Department of Truth, where nothing is real unless enough people believe it.

The main story is still in the hands of the creators who started it all—James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds—and acts as a prequel and fresh entry point for anyone just stepping into this shadowy world of weaponized belief and government cover-ups.

And for all the collectors and cover junkies out there: variant covers are coming from Simmonds, Hixson, and the one and only Bill Sienkiewicz. Yeah, it’s that serious.

If you’re into conspiracies, counter-narratives, or just want to see what happens when Elvis gets tangled in some deep-state weirdness, The Department of Truth #0 is your next fix.

Drop date: September 10, 2025. Don’t sleep on it.

My love for heavy metal and horror films runs deep—these genres are practically in my DNA. Friends know me as the go-to guy for everything from crushing guitar riffs to the most bone-chilling horror flicks, and my enthusiasm is contagious. Whether I’m headbanging to the latest metal release or dissecting the creepiest storylines, I’m all in. And, yeah, I’ve got a soft spot for anime too when the mood strikes!
