OMG, can we just talk about how AMAZING this sounds?! Orlando is the absolute BEST place to be if you’re obsessed with tabletop games (and honestly, who isn’t these days?!). Quest Con Orlando is happening September 19-21, 2025 at the DoubleTree at Universal Studios, and I am literally bouncing in my chair just thinking about it!
So here’s the tea – this convention is doing something SO smart and different! While other events are trying to be everything to everyone, Quest Con is like “nope, we’re all about the tabletop life” and I am HERE for it! No celebrity chaos or overcrowded cosplay competitions (though I love those too!). Just pure, concentrated gaming goodness – roleplaying games, board games, wargaming, card games – basically everything that makes our nerdy hearts sing!
Can we talk about the schedule for a hot sec? Because they totally GET IT! Friday starts at 10AM and goes until midnight, Saturday is 8AM to midnight (early birds unite!), and Sunday wraps up at a civilized 6PM. This means you can finally play those epic D&D campaigns that are supposed to be quick but somehow turn into all-day adventures where you’re crying over your character’s backstory at 2AM. You know exactly what I’m talking about!
The shopping situation is going to be DANGEROUS for my wallet, not gonna lie! Vendor hours are Friday 2-8PM, Saturday 10AM-7PM, and Sunday 10AM-5PM. That’s plenty of time to absolutely lose control and buy enough dice to start my own rainbow collection. But seriously, is there such a thing as too many pretty dice? I think not!
Something that has me super excited is the tournament scene! They’re running serious competitions for Warhammer 40K, Age of Sigmar, Blood Bowl, and other miniature games. Even if you’re not ready to compete yet, watching the experienced players battle it out is like getting a masterclass in strategy. Plus, the energy at these tournaments is absolutely electric!
The location is absolutely perfect too! The DoubleTree at Universal Studios has all the space we need, and being connected to a hotel means you can literally roll out of bed and into a game session. Orlando knows how to handle conventions, so no nightmare parking situations or getting lost trying to find the venue.
But here’s what really has me squealing – their Discord server! You can connect with other gamers BEFORE the convention even starts! As someone who sometimes gets shy about jumping into games with new people, this is such a game-changer. You can find your people, plan sessions, maybe even form your future regular gaming group. The community-building aspect is just so thoughtful and inclusive!
Can we just acknowledge how tabletop gaming has absolutely EXPLODED lately? And I think it’s because we’re all craving that real, in-person connection! Sure, you can play games on your phone, but there’s something magical about sitting around an actual table with real humans. The gasps when someone rolls a nat 20, the celebratory squeals, the way inside jokes develop over a campaign – you just can’t replicate that digital magic through a screen!
Central Florida is becoming this incredible hub for gaming communities, and Quest Con feels like it’s both celebrating that and making it even bigger and better. The organizers clearly understand what we actually want – time to play, space to spread out, and awesome people to share the experience with.
I am absolutely, 100% planning to be there! A whole weekend where my biggest decision is whether to try that cute new cooperative game or finally tackle something with a rulebook thicker than a novel? Yes, please! That sounds like my definition of paradise right now.
The vendor area is going to be so fun to explore too! Gaming conventions always bring together shops from everywhere, so you get to discover treasures you’d never find locally. Plus, convention vendors are like gaming fairy godmothers – they always know about the perfect games you didn’t even know you needed in your life!
If you love tabletop gaming and can swing a trip to Orlando that weekend, this seriously sounds like the kind of event that will remind you why you fell head-over-heels for this hobby in the first place. And if you’re new to the scene? This could be your perfect introduction to a community that’s way more welcoming and fun than you might expect!
Three whole days of gaming bliss with people who are just as passionate about it as you are – honestly, what more could anyone ask for?!
