G-Man Comics has partnered with Philbo Publishing in a deal that brings together two independent comics-focused companies. The partnership changes how G-Man Comics releases its titles, shifting to a rotating four-issue story arc format.
The launch lineup includes Simon N. Kirby & The G-Men, Sgt. Flag, Taranis the Thunderlord, and Lynx. Each title runs monthly for four issues before switching to the next title in a round robin schedule. The format keeps the superhero action moving while making the stories easier to jump into.
By the fourth quarter, G-Man Comics will expand what it’s publishing through Philbo to include specials and mini-series alongside the ongoing titles.
The cover artist roster is stacked. Steven Butler, Rob Liefeld, Stefani Rennee, Marat Mychaels, Ron Frenz, Luis Rivera, OMG!, Eric Shanower, Mark Beachum, and Alan Faria are all contributing covers. Interior art comes from Gilbert Monsanto, Alan Faria, Arnoldo Jr., Luis Rivera, Milton Estevam, Bobby Ragland, Henrique “Hique!” Pereira, Joshua 1:9 Holley, Ron Charles Williams, and Téo Pinheiro. Writers Rik Offenberger and Eric N. Bennett handle the scripts, with editors Chris Squires, Martin Boruta, and Ray MacKay rounding out the team.
Rik Offenberger, writer and co-founder of G-Man Comics, points to years of work and a passion for indie comics driving the partnership. Working with Philbo gives G-Man room to grow without compromising the stories they want to tell.
Eric N. Bennett, writer and co-founder, sees the partnership as a good creative fit. Philbo shares their vision for independent storytelling, and the collaboration feels like building something that lasts.
Phillip Russert, owner of Philbo Publishing, views G-Man Comics as representing what independent comics should be about—heart, creativity, and commitment. Supporting their vision while building together is what the partnership is designed to do.
The deal puts G-Man Comics’ heroes under the Philbo Publishing banner with a focus on keeping the independent comics spirit alive.
