Wyatt Kennedy and Luigi Formisano bring Nights back from hiatus with issue 19 hitting comic shops July 1, 2026 from Image Comics. The vampire series shifts tone from comedic slice of life adventure into dark fantasy epic.
Vince awakens from a three-month coma as a vampire. Gray disappeared. Chimera’s forces hunt the monster blamed for destroying the town. Legendary vampire conquistador Eda arrives, bloodthirsty and dangerous.
Kennedy called issue 19 the most anticipated installment since the series launched. The creative team flips the status quo entirely, introducing danger, death, heartbreak, and surprises. Image Comics gave them the opportunity to tell this next chapter.
Formisano cranked the dark fantasy elements higher with dramatic shadows, nasty creatures, and vampires everywhere. The frenetic storytelling intensifies as Vince wakes and everything closes in around him.
Eric Stephenson, Chief Creative Officer and Publisher at Image Comics, praised Kennedy and Formisano as one of comics’ best kept secrets. He called Nights a treasure hiding in plain sight with each issue delivering unhinged storytelling.
Issue 19 picks up where the jaw-dropping events of issue 12 ended. The series always centered on change according to the creative team. This arc completes their vision for transforming the book’s entire approach.
Three trade paperbacks collect the series so far. Volume 1 gathers issues 1-6, Volume 2 contains issues 7-12, and Volume 3 compiles issues 13-18. All volumes remain available at comic shops, bookstores, and digitally through Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
