Hurricon 2026 Brings Four Days of Historical Wargaming to Kissimmee

Fans of historical miniatures and tabletop wargaming are heading to Kissimmee this week for HMGS-South Hurricon 2026, running August 20-23 at the Holiday Inn Resort Kissimmee by the Parks.

This year’s theme is “Fife and Drum,” giving game hosts plenty of room to explore military conflicts from different periods. The convention features games scheduled in two- and four-hour blocks, with gaming beginning Thursday afternoon and continuing through Sunday.

The event isn’t limited to historical battles. The schedule includes tournaments for games such as Konflikt ’47, Bolt Action, and L’Art de la Guerre, along with a wide range of other tabletop games.

There will also be a flea market on Friday and an HMGS-South club meeting on Saturday. A concession area will be available in the hall during breaks, giving players a chance to grab something to eat before getting back to the tables.

Gaming starts Thursday at 2pm, with additional sessions throughout Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s final games begin at 9am, with the convention wrapping up around 1pm.

HMGS-South Hurricon 2026 takes place August 20-23 at the Holiday Inn Resort Kissimmee by the Parks, 3011 Maingate Lane, Kissimmee, Florida. For tabletop gamers who enjoy miniatures, military history, and spending a weekend around the gaming table, Hurricon offers four days of games and activities in Central Florida.
