What happens after humanity disappears? Apparently, the robots get the planet—and one of them happens to be a robotic version of Abraham Lincoln.
If Destruction Be Our Lot follows Abe as he starts questioning the comfortable life the remaining robots have built for themselves. Convinced there has to be something beyond the walls of his city, Abe sets out to find answers, even if the journey gets him recycled along the way.
The sci-fi series comes from writers Matthew Rosenberg and Mark Elijah Rosenberg, with art by Andy MacDonald, colors by Francesco Segala and lettering by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. The series has already developed a following, with the first three issues selling out at the distributor level and returning to print.
The first collection, If Destruction Be Our Lot Vol. 1, collects issues #1-4. The 136-page trade paperback carries a $16.99 price tag and will be available at comic shops on October 7, 2026, followed by bookstores and other major retailers on November 3, 2026.
It’s a pretty unusual setup for a sci-fi comic: a world without humans, a lonely robot Abraham Lincoln and a search for meaning in what’s left behind. That’s a strange combination, but that’s also what makes this one stand out.
