October is the perfect time to get a little spooky, and HallowRamaCon is giving horror fans a whole Saturday to do exactly that.
HallowRamaCon comes to the Putnam County Fairgrounds in East Palatka on October 10, combining an indoor horror convention with the Madd Monsters Halloween Market happening outside. That means you can spend part of the day meeting horror guests and shopping inside, then head outdoors for even more Halloween fun.
Leading the guest lineup is Warrington Gillette, who played Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th Part 2. His appearance comes as the movie celebrates its 45th anniversary, so if you happen to have a Jason mask, machete or Friday the 13th collectible that needs a signature, you already know what to bring.
Mark McCracken from Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings and Sonya Thompson from The Walking Dead are also scheduled to appear.
Of course, you can’t have a Halloween convention without some shopping. Vendors will have horror merchandise and other creepy finds available, while the outdoor Madd Monsters Halloween Market adds local makers and crafters to the mix.
DJ Voodoo will provide music during the event, and the Ghostbusters of Middleburg will be joining the fun too. The event is family friendly, so younger Halloween fans don’t have to sit this one out.
HallowRamaCon takes place Saturday, October 10, from 11 AM to 6 PM at the Putnam County Fairgrounds, 117 Yelvington Road in East Palatka. General admission is $10, while VIP admission is $30 and includes a swag bag.
If horror movies, Halloween shopping, monsters and meeting the people behind some familiar characters sound like a good way to spend an October Saturday, HallowRamaCon might be worth the drive.
Just remember, if you see Jason walking around the fairgrounds, there’s a pretty good chance you can actually ask him for an autograph.
