Cities of Magick is almost exactly the kind of comic I enjoy most. It may have some weaknesses, but what it does right most is the single thing that has kept me coming back to new comics after almost thirty years of reading.

While I’m not a fan of the endless alternate worlds Marvel cranks out instead of just starting completely new stories, every once in a while one of them really hits on something special.
As one might expect from a horror story, there’s lots of macabre images throughout, and the artists cleverly make this compliment some of the weaknesses of their art.
