Cosplayer Of The Week: Fagatron Dolce

 Hi everyone I am an author and professional LGBT cosplayer. Working on my first book. I have been cosplaying for about two years and really enjoy getting out to the cons and festivals as my character. I recently released the Fagatron 2020 Calendar. With 12 looks that was a lot of fun creating. My goal is to open minds and hearts. My name is FAGATRON and I am here to save the world!

Leo Nocedo : How did you discover cosplaying?

Fagatron Dolce : A couple years ago for halloween I began dressing as my character . Every halloween I would dress as Fagatron. Finally two years ago I decided to go to Paradise City Con. Wow! What an expiernce so many talented individuals with such passion. I was immediately hooked on the energy of cosplaying.

Leo Nocedo : What was your first cosplay?
Fagatron Dolce : Elvis, Some of my costmes are inspired by Elvis. My early costumes were an Elvis costume.

Leo Nocedo : What are your next 3 cosplay plans?
Fagatron Dolce : Well given our current state of the world. I planned on doing Supercon, Wynwood pride and Mizucon, and Ultracon

Leo Nocedo : Have you ever been in a cosplay contest?
Fagatron Dolce : Yes! I won twice. Once at Miami Comic Con, and once at Outcon

Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer sewing, armor making, or wig working?
Fagatron Dolce : Sewing ,and armor working

Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to do photoshoots at cons or at specific locations?
Fagatron Dolce : I love them both. I love the energy at the cons. But I also love shooting on location at cool spots like wynwood and the Versace mansion.

Leo Nocedo : Is there a type of character you cosplay frequently?
Fagatron Dolce : My character is a superhero. So I would definitely gravitate towards super heros.

Leo Nocedo : Do you have any favorite cosplayers?
Fagatron Dolce : Avery Cosplay is great. And I love Space wizard cosplays commitment to the craft. There is so many talented cosplayers out there though and I respect their passion.

Leo Nocedo : What’s the most detailed cosplay you’ve ever done?
Fagatron Dolce :The first time I ever dressed as Fagatron I transformed into a car. The costume was made of boxes . It was very intricate and amzing.

Leo Nocedo : What is your favorite cosplay you’ve done?
Fagatron Dolce : 2018 Fagatron Rey. It was a red and gold ensemble I love that look.

Leo Nocedo : What is your worst cosplay “horror” story?
Fagatron Dolce :  Supercon 2018, lol on my way there I was waiting at a red light and was rammed from behind into the car in front of me. My car was totaled. I was fine thank god so I proceeded to Supercon. I had a great time all the while knowing my car was gone;-(

Leo Nocedo : What’s your funniest cosplay story?
Fagatron Dolce :  I think it has to be Comic Con revolution WPB. Ming Chen host the contest and he is always a good time. Very supportive.

Leo Nocedo : What’s the best in-character interaction you’ve ever had?
Fagatron Dolce :  Meeting the kids at the cons, Especially within the LGBT community. They are so supportive and friendly.

Leo Nocedo : Have you ever cosplayed with a family member?
Fagatron Dolce :  Not yet. I did take my sisters with me to Hero Hype.

Leo Nocedo : What is your favorite cosplay photo of yourself?
Fagatron Dolce :  The red photo from Supercon.

Leo Nocedo : What are your go-to stores for cosplay materials/full cosplays?
Fagatron Dolce : Micheals,Joanne fabrics ,Beatniks on South Beach

Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to buy pre-styled wigs or style your own?
Fagatron Dolce : I just started getting into wigs so prestyled is best for me.

Leo Nocedo : Have you ever had someone mistake you for a different character?
Fagatron Dolce :  Yes, Iron man

Leo Nocedo : List all the cosplays you’ve done:
Fagatron Dolce : Elvis, Indian Jones and Fagatron 😉

Leo Nocedo : What’s the biggest con you’ve cosplayed at?
Fagatron Dolce : Megacon

Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer cosplaying characters with props, or characters that you don’t need to carry a prop around all day?
Fagatron Dolce : I do like carrying a sceptor now and then. But its best without.

Leo Nocedo : Have you ever lost a cosplay piece at a con?
Fagatron Dolce :   Yes

Leo Nocedo : Have you ever bought a cosplay piece at a con?
Fagatron Dolce :  Not yet

Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to cosplay solo or in a group?
Fagatron Dolce :  I’m a solo act. However groups are fun also

Leo Nocedo : Have you ever done a cosplay panel?
Fagatron Dolce : I hosted a panel at Ultracon.

Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to buy or make cosplays?
Fagatron Dolce :  Because it is an original character I do preder to make my own costume pieces. However I cant sew so I outsource the jumpsuits and make my own accessories.

Leo Nocedo : If you could tell your past self anything about cosplay, what would you say?
Fagatron Dolce : You have nothing to prove to anyone. Get out there and do it.

Leo Nocedo : What is your ultimate dream cosplay?
Fagatron Dolce : I’d love to make a kings entrance at San Diego comic con someday.

Leo Nocedo : What’s the most difficult cosplay you’ve ever done? (Craftsmanship, wearing of, ect)
Fagatron Dolce :  They all are difficult. Its really hot and my boots have a heel which im really not used to.

Leo Nocedo : What’s the most difficult character makeup you’ve done?
Fagatron Dolce : I dont wear makeup….Yet

Leo Nocedo : What, in your opinion, makes a cosplayer a “pro” cosplayer?
Fagatron Dolce : Consistency, kindness and appreciation for the craftsmanship of others.

Leo Nocedo : What is your favorite part of cosplaying?
Fagatron Dolce : The transformation and seeing the other cosplayers do their thing.

Fagatron Dolce :  What do you hope to accomplish.?
Fagatron Dolce :My hope is to be a beacon of light to the cosplay and Lgbt communities . To set an example that you can be whoever you wish. With some makeup, a mask, a cape, whatever it is that takes you to that level. Have fun with it.
