Boynton Beach Haunted Pirate Fest and Mermaid Splash 2020 Cancellation

The Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (BBCRA) understands the tremendous impact that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has had on the local community, as well as the nation and countries around the world.

As a precautionary measure to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19, the BBCRA has made the difficult decision to cancel the 9th Annual Boynton Beach Haunted Pirate Fest & Mermaid Splash event, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 31, 2020 and Sunday, November 1, 2020.

Multiple factors were evaluated prior to making this difficult decision. Ultimately, the BBCRA decided to cancel the event, which annually draws more than 50,000 people to Downtown Boynton Beach after analyzing directives from the CDC and State of Florida Department of Health. The cancellation will ultimately protect the safety, health, and well-being of both residents and visitors from possible exposure to COVID-19.

We know that this decision will disappoint many fans of the festival who look forward to converging in Downtown Boynton Beach each year for swashbuckling adventures. We share in the disappointment and are looking forward to continuing our amazing adventures and creating new memories in 2021 for the 10th Annual Boynton Beach Haunted Pirate Fest & Mermaid Splash.

Once planning has begun for the 2021 event, the www.bbpiratefest.com and www.boyntonbeachcra.com websites will be updated to provide additional information about the festival.
