This Saturday, January 30th, 2021, Ongaku Overdrive presents their first online concert of the year, Virtua Ongaku VII. In 2020, the Virtua Ongaku series had thousands of viewers from all over America and beyond tune in to see incredibly talented and diverse lineups of video game musicians, nerdcore emcees, and chiptune artists from the comfort of their own homes.
It has been rewarding to provide a means for artists to perform to fans and give fans great shows during this ongoing pandemic. Ongaku Overdrive will continue the series, with another great lineup:
RoboRob – RoboRob is a multi-genre producer/DJ currently based out of Tampa, FL. He’s successfully remixed music from video games like Sonic Mania, Overwatch, Undertale, C
LEX the Lexicon Artist – LEX the Lexicon Artist makes cerebral pop rap. Drawing inspiration from pop culture, fandom, and life experiences, LEX’s explosive and off-the-wall performances explore humanity, psychology, and belonging through an irreverent lens that is both self-absorbed and self-effacing. LEX aims to create smart and fun music that makes you think, party, and self-heal.
String Player Gamer – Diwa de Leon, known as String Player Gamer, is a Filipino composer, music producer, violinist, and content creator born in the Philipines. After falling in love with the music of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past at age eleven, Diwa’s journey into video game music took root. Fast forward to the present, String Player Gamer is now a professional musician who aims to amplify his childhood nerd nostalgia into high quality, musical productions for everyone to enjoy.
O_Super – O_Super is an Orlando-based nerdcore emcee who draws influence from hip hop, jazz, lofi, and golden age video games. O_Super has been performing as an independent Artist, and is also the musical director for CEO Gaming, producing and releasing the yearly collaborative CEO Original Soundtrack since 2013. O_Super’s first album Songs for Saga, is coming soon!
Tiggs – Tiggs is a singer, audio engineer, and composer based in the Washington DC area. Her voice is in a variety of projects, including live and studio recorded performances for ConSoul, Materia Collective, Sole by Gossamer games, and more! Coming soon is her first full album with ConSoul, featuring all big band video game arrangements!
