Cosplayer of the Week: Benny Webber AKA Mick E Potter

Leo Nocedo : How did you discover cosplaying?
Mick E potter : We went to a Celebration of Harry Potter 2017 at Universal Orlando and we saw how much fun everyone was having and we wanted to be a part of it
Leo Nocedo : What was your first cosplay?
Mick E potter :  Professor Dumbledore at a Celebration of Harry Potter 2018 at Universal. Best time Ever

Leo Nocedo : What are your next 3 cosplay plans?
Mick E potter : Mister Arrow from Treasure Planet, an updated version of Dumbledore, a Jedi from Star Wars
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever been in a cosplay contest?
Mick E potter : Yes, we were asked twice to be in a contest. We did not win anything but we sure had fun
Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer sewing, armor making, or wig working?
Mick E potter :  I have come to love working with EVA foam it is my go-to. I just started to learn how to sew

Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to do photoshoots at cons or at specific locations?
Mick E potter : We take lots of pictures at the cons against the backgrounds but nothing beats pictures at specific locations

Leo Nocedo :  Is there a type of character you cosplay frequently?
Mick E potter : Yes, Harry Potter world and Starwars has been our go-to. We love doing Disney mash-ups

Leo Nocedo : Do you have any favorite cosplayers?

Mick E potter :  Yes, Svetlana W (KamuiCosglay) and Alyson Tabbitha. Look them up. They are both Amazing.

Leo Nocedo : What’s the most detailed cosplay you’ve ever done?
Mick E potter : Odin of gaggm. l have not worn the costume to any event. I am hoping to debut it at Megacon

Leo Nocedo : What are your top 3 craftsmanship tips?
Mick E potter : 1, Watch videos from the cosplay Masters out there. They have helped me so much with my building of my
cosplays 2, Love what you make and wear it with pride 3, Have fun making it.

Leo Nocedo : What is your favorite cosplay you’ve done?
Mick E potter : Dilly Jedi Knight and Princess Leia Solo Cup. We have so much fun wearing them together

Leo Nocedo : What is your worst cosplay “horror” story?
Mick E potter : No horror story as of yet. Keeping my fingers crossed
Leo Nocedo : What’s your funniest cosplay story?
Mick E potter : We were in a cosplay contest working the crowd. We were wearing Dilly mDAilmJedi Knight and Princess Leia Solo
Cup. The crowd was going nuts as we were yelling Dilly M. It was so much fun. The funny part is we do not
drink.
Leo Nocedo : What’s the best in-character interaction you’ve ever had?
Mick E potter : At the Harry Potter celebration at Universal the young kids come up to us dressed as Professor McGonagall and
Professor Dumbledore and tell us how happy they are to see us. best time ever
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever cosplayed with a family member?
Mick E potter : Yes, often. We cosplay with my in most of the HP events and a few select festivals
Leo Nocedo : What is your favorite cosplay photo of yourself?
Mick E potter : We have a picture of us in our professor costumes from Harry Potter in a picture with Bonnie Wright ( GinnyW)
Leo Nocedo : What are your go-to stores for cosplay materials/full cosplays?
Mick E potter : The Goodwill. I am always in there looking for new pieces.
Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to buy pre-styled wigs or style your own?
Mick E potter : Pre-style wigs. I’m not much of a hair stylist
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever had someone mistake you for a different character?
Mick E potter : Yes, that costume is long gone. next question
Leo Nocedo : List all the cosplays you’ve done.
Mick E potter : We always cosplay together so here are some of our costumes. Professor Dumbledore & Professor McGonagall,
Odin & Frigga, Captain Barbossa & his Queen, Indiana Jones & Dr. Henry Jones, Dilly Qilvlnedi Knight & Princess Leia Solo Cup, Older Luke & Leia
Leo Nocedo : What’s the biggest con you’ve cosplayed at?
Mick E potter : Megacon so far.
Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer cosplaying characters with props, or characters that you don’t need to carry a prop around all day?
Mick E potter : Somehow, we always end up with a prop or two.
Leo Nocedo :.Have you ever lost a cosplay piece at a con?
Mick E potter : Not yet
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever bought a cosplay piece at a con?

Mick E potter : Yes, the cons have the best stuff. I’m always looking for cool items at the con
Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to cosplay solo or in a group?
Mick E potter : Always with my wife and many times including my sister. I like the more the merrier
Leo Nocedo : If you had a chance to meet your all-time favorite cosplayer, what would you say to them?
Mick E potter : l have always wanted to meet Alyson Tabbitha. She is an amazing cosplayer. I would love to pick her brain about her makeup techniques
Leo Nocedo : Have you ever done a cosplay panel?
Mick E potter : No
Leo Nocedo : Do you prefer to buy or make cosplays?
Mick E potter : I buy some parts (learning to sew) and make most of the fun parts if I can.
Leo Nocedo : If you could tell your past self anything about cosplay, what would you say?
Mick E potter : Do it. You will love it. I wish I got involved with cosplay much sooner in life.
Leo Nocedo : What is your ultimate dream cosplay?
Mick E potter : Having people excited to see my cosplay and watch them smile.
Leo Nocedo : What’s the most difficult cosplay you’ve ever done? (Craftsmanship, wearing of, ect)
Mick E potter : Building my Odin costume. I built it out of EVA foam from scratch. I had no pattern to work off ofJust film clips
from the movie. I love how it turned out
Leo Nocedo :  What’s the most difficult character makeup you’ve done?
Mick E potter : I haven’t really done any good makeup. That’s whyl need to have a conversation with Alyson Tabbitha
Leo Nocedo : What, in your opinion, makes a cosplayer a “pro” cosplayer?
Mick E potter : A person who is all in and produces outstanding cosplay costumes Time After Time.
Leo Nocedo : What is your favorite part of cosplaying?
Mick E potter : For the both of us it is all of the people we have met and the friendships we have made. When you see friends at
a con or Festival it is just the best feeling. It’s a family

Mick E potter : I hope it keeps on growing and reaches more people in the
