Exciting news for comic book fans: the Eisner Award-winning series Bitter Root is back! Creators David F. Walker, Chuck Brown, and Sanford Greene are launching a new story arc titled The Next Movement, set to debut in March 2025 from Image Comics.
This five-issue arc takes us to 1964, during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. A group of activists has disappeared, forcing a new generation of the Sangerye family to confront an evolved menace—deadlier than anything their ancestors ever faced. The jinoo, monstrous beings fueled by hate and racism, have transformed into something even more insidious, threatening a world hesitant to acknowledge their existence.
Sanford Greene shared his enthusiasm: “I’m excited to return to what I believe is one of the most important books of our time!”
Chuck Brown added: “Thanks for always standing up to the monsters.”
David F. Walker expressed gratitude to fans: “Thanks for your patience. The wait will have been worth it.”
