If you grew up with giant robots, Saturday morning cartoons, or those amazing die-cast Shogun Warriors toys (yep—the ones with the spring-loaded fists that flew across the room), then today is going to hit you right in the childhood.
Starting this morning, DKU (Digital Kaiju Underground) is running a full 24-hour Shogun Warriors marathon to celebrate the 4th of July—with wall-to-wall episodes packed with rocket punches, sword attacks, and non-stop mecha action.
They’ve lined up 54 classic episodes from some of the foundational 1970s super robot anime: Reideen the Brave, Gaiking, and Combattler V. If those names ring a bell, it’s because they inspired the legendary Mattel toy line that many of us grew up with. I still have a few of those old figures on a shelf—battle-damaged and slightly worn, but still awesome.
And today, you don’t have to dig out old VHS tapes or chase down imports—just head over to DKU’s live streams and soak it all in.
You can watch the entire marathon for free on:
No sign-ups, no fees—just a full day of retro robot mayhem. There’s even a live chat, so you can geek out with other fans as the rocket fists start flying.
So if you’re spending the 4th indoors or just want to relive your childhood in the most metal way possible, join me in watching the true defenders of freedom: the Shogun Warriors.
