Comic readers continue to flock to one of Image Comics’ hottest new releases as Red Roots has sold out at the distributor level for the second time in just two issues. Due to overwhelming demand, Image Comics has announced that Red Roots #2 is already being rushed back to print.
Created by Lorenzo de Felici, Red Roots has quickly become one of the breakout independent comics of 2026. The series follows the lives of a professional killer and a high school teacher whose fates become connected by a terrifying and mysterious force.
Many comic fans already know de Felici from his work on Oblivion Song and Void Rivals. His latest project has generated significant buzz since launch, with Red Roots #1 selling out and requiring a second printing shortly after release. Now issue #2 has followed the same path, showing that reader interest in the series continues to grow.
Image Comics has confirmed that the second printing of Red Roots #2 is scheduled to arrive in comic shops on July 8. Meanwhile, Red Roots #3 is set to hit stores on June 24, giving readers a chance to jump into one of the most talked-about new horror titles on shelves today.
The rapid sellouts have helped establish Red Roots as one of the standout creator-owned launches of the year. With strong word-of-mouth, multiple reprints, and growing excitement surrounding upcoming issues, the series appears to be building serious momentum among comic readers and retailers alike.
For readers who haven’t checked out Red Roots yet, finding copies of the early issues may require a little hunting, but Image Comics is clearly making sure additional printings are available to meet demand.
