Image Comics has another hit on its hands as The Trillion Dollar Kid #1 has sold out at the distributor level on the day of its release. Thanks to strong demand, the publisher has already announced a second printing that will arrive in comic shops on July 8.
The new series marks the beginning of the first crossover event from the Ghost Machine imprint. Written by Geoff Johns and Peter J. Tomasi, with artwork by Stefano Simeone, the story introduces Tommy Townsend III, the world’s first 13-year-old trillionaire, as he sets out to uncover the mystery of the Unbelievables.
The crossover begins in The Trillion Dollar Kid #1 before continuing in Hornsby & Halo #14, The Rocketfellers #13, and concluding in The Trillion Dollar Kid #2 later this summer. Earlier one-shot issues of Rocketfellers #0 and Hornsby & Halo #0 serve as prologues and entry points into the expanding Unbelievables Universe.
With an instant sellout and a second printing already on the way, The Trillion Dollar Kid is off to a strong start and is quickly becoming one of the summer’s hottest new comic launches.
