Former Chicago Bears standout Lance Briggs is adding a new title to his résumé with the release of The Trap, an original graphic novel from Image Comics.
Briggs teamed with Kyle Higgins (Radiant Black) to write the story, while Danilo Beyruth (Catwoman) provides the artwork. Set in a future where Earth has become an overlooked corner of a vast interstellar alliance, the story follows rising athlete Jaylen Robinson, whose promising future begins to unravel after a desperate job goes wrong just days before the biggest race of his life.
The Trap has been years in the making. Higgins says he and Briggs began developing the project more than six years ago, bringing together Briggs’ passion for storytelling with a science fiction setting that mixes sports, crime, and suspense. Artist Danilo Beyruth joins the team to bring that world to life.
Originally announced as a Kickstarter project, The Trap is now being published by Image Comics and is scheduled for release this fall.
