Red Roots Vol. 1 Brings a Strange New Mystery to Comic Shops This Fall

Lorenzo de Felici’s Red Roots is getting its first collected edition this fall, bringing the first five issues of the supernatural series together in one trade paperback.

The story follows two people who seemingly have very different lives: a professional killer and a high school teacher. Their paths become connected by a strange and terrifying force, pulling both characters into a much bigger mystery.

Part supernatural thriller, part dark fantasy, Red Roots is built around a mystery that keeps opening up as the story moves along. De Felici mixes unexpected twists with a story that doesn’t give away all of its answers right away, making the first five issues an interesting read as a complete collection.

De Felici is no stranger to big projects. He co-created Oblivion Song with Robert Kirkman and later became the artist on Void Rivals, another Kirkman collaboration that became one of the biggest comic launches of 2024.

The new Red Roots Vol. 1 trade paperback collects Red Roots #1-5 and will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. It will arrive at independent bookstores and other major retailers on Tuesday, November 17.

For readers who missed the individual issues, the collected edition offers a chance to catch up with the series in one book. And for anyone who likes supernatural mysteries that aren’t afraid to take some unexpected turns, Red Roots looks like an interesting addition to the fall comic lineup.
