Crowbound #1 made a quick impression on comic shops, and now readers who missed the first printing will have another shot at picking it up.
Image Comics announced that the debut issue from Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen sold out completely at the distributor level following its September 2 release. The strong response has prompted a second printing, which will arrive in comic shops on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The second printing will feature two different covers, including a brand-new cover by Nguyen and a virgin version of the original first-printing cover.
The story introduces Rose, a woman living in a harsh world dominated by a massive Factory that stretches along the coast. After her young daughter Ava is taken from their home before she is supposed to join the Factory workforce, Rose is forced beyond the safety of her settlement and into a much more dangerous world.
That journey brings her face-to-face with the Scarecrow Queen, an ancient and violent force that becomes part of Rose’s desperate attempt to get her daughter back.
For readers who missed the first printing, September 30 is the date to watch, when the second printing of Crowbound #1 arrives at comic shops. The next chapter isn’t far behind, with Crowbound #2 scheduled for October 7.
