October is starting off appropriately creepy in Tampa.
Scaradise, Florida’s Horror Convention, takes over the Florida State Fairgrounds October 2–4 for three days filled with horror celebrities, autographs, photo ops, artists, vendors, collectibles and plenty of things that go bump in the night.
A big part of Scaradise is getting the chance to meet familiar faces from horror, television and movies. The convention has put together a large celebrity lineup for the weekend, with guests scheduled to sign autographs and take professional photos with fans. If you have a favorite horror movie poster, collectible or piece of memorabilia sitting at home waiting for the right signature, this might be the weekend to bring it out.
There’s plenty to do between celebrity encounters too. Vendors and artists will fill the show floor with horror merchandise, artwork, collectibles and other strange finds, while panels give fans another way to spend some time with the personalities appearing at the convention.
Scaradise runs Friday, October 2, from 1 PM to 8 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. The convention takes place at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. Highway 301 North in Tampa.
Kids 10 and under are admitted free with a paid adult, and the entire convention is held indoors in the air-conditioned Expo Hall. Panels are included with admission and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
So if your idea of a good October weekend involves horror movies, celebrity guests, creepy collectibles and spending a few hours surrounded by people who appreciate the darker side of pop culture, Scaradise should feel right at home.
