Love, Lies and Paradise Make Ofiusa #1 a Sellout for Image Comics

Paradise is supposed to be relaxing. Beautiful beaches, warm water, a little romance, and absolutely nothing to worry about.

Apparently, nobody told Guillem March.

His latest comic, Ofiusa, has already made quite an impression on readers, with its debut issue selling out completely at the distributor level. Image Comics is sending the first issue back to print, giving anyone who missed it another opportunity to find out what all the attention is about.

March, whose previous work includes Batman, The Joker, Catwoman, and his creator-owned series Karmen, is handling both the writing and artwork on this six-issue miniseries.

And the story sounds like anything but a relaxing island getaway.

At the center of Ofiusa is a romance between Mar and a young entrepreneur named Joan. Things seem to be moving along nicely, but in another timeline, Joan meets a mysterious woman named Isla on a beautiful island.

Now there’s a love triangle, two timelines, and a whole lot of secrets nobody seems particularly interested in sharing.

Add a dark mystery from the past, and suddenly that tropical paradise doesn’t seem quite so inviting.

March has described Ofiusa as an unconventional and deeply personal project, admitting that a second printing wasn’t something he expected. The response from readers has clearly caught him by surprise.

For anyone familiar with Karmen, March has already shown that he enjoys telling stories that don’t necessarily follow the usual comic book formula. Ofiusa continues that creative approach, mixing romance, mystery, and striking artwork into something considerably different from the average superhero adventure.

The second printing of Ofiusa #1 arrives at comic book shops on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

Readers won’t have to wait that long for the story to continue, either. Ofiusa #2 is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, with multiple covers by March, including a raw art incentive variant and an NSFW polybagged edition.

So what’s really happening between Mar, Joan, and Isla? And what exactly is hiding beneath the surface of this seemingly perfect island?

Those answers are still waiting to be uncovered.

One thing is certain. Guillem March has managed to turn a tropical romance into a mystery that comic book readers are already paying attention to.

And judging by that first-issue sellout, plenty of people are curious about what happens next.
