Rob Liefeld’s angels are apparently still raising hell.
Avengelyne #1 arrived in comic book shops on October 7, 2026, and sold out at the distributor level that same day. Image Comics has already ordered a second printing, giving readers another chance to pick up the return of one of Liefeld’s creations from the 1990s.
And she’s not coming back quietly.
Liefeld has joined forces with artist Daniel Mainé for a new chapter in Avengelyne’s story, bringing the supernatural heroine into a world of demons, temptation, and questionable intentions.
The story begins with a priest struggling with his faith. His life takes an unexpected turn when Avengelyne appears, but her arrival also catches the attention of Belisle, a wealthy demon lord who has some rather unpleasant plans for her.
Instead of simply destroying Avengelyne, the forces of darkness want to bring her over to their side.
Good luck with that.
For longtime comic readers, Avengelyne’s return is another reminder of the characters Liefeld helped introduce during the early years of Image Comics. His recent projects, including Youngblood and Badrock, have also found success with new printings.
There’s even an Avengelyne movie in development at Warner Bros., with Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment involved.
The second printing of Avengelyne #1 arrives Wednesday, November 4, 2026, featuring a new cover by Liefeld.
The story continues in Avengelyne #2 on November 11, followed by Avengelyne #3 on December 16, with cover artwork from Mainé and Liefeld.
It’s been more than thirty years since Avengelyne first appeared, and she’s still finding ways to attract attention.
Considering how quickly the first issue sold out, the forces of Heaven and Hell aren’t the only ones interested in what happens next.
