Tokyo Takeover Brings Drifting, Anime and Japanese Car Culture to Lead Foot City

The sound of tires screeching across pavement isn’t something you’d normally associate with an anime convention, but that’s exactly what makes Tokyo Takeover at Lead Foot City a little different.

The second annual event returns Saturday, November 7, 2026, combining Japanese automotive culture, anime, cosplay, and live drifting into one massive gathering in Brooksville, Florida.

The action takes place at Lead Foot City, where professional and advanced drivers will put their skills to the test on the Achilles Arena Mega Drift Pad and the venue’s new purpose-built drift track in Tokyo Town.

Visitors looking for a closer experience can purchase drift ride-alongs, while indoor glow-karting offers another way to get behind the wheel.

Anime fans won’t be left out, either. The event includes an anime convention with vendors, artwork, collectibles, and a cosplay contest offering $500 in cash prizes, including $300 for first place.

Car collectors can check out a showcase featuring JDM imports, right-hand-drive vehicles, and Itasha cars decorated with anime-inspired artwork. There will also be engine-revving competitions, music from anime DJ JustSaiyanfun, Asian food, and food trucks.

Tokyo Takeover takes place Saturday, November 7, from 2 PM to 10 PM at Lead Foot City, 17109 Old Ayers Road, Brooksville, Florida 34604.

Advance general admission is listed at $30, increasing to $40 at the regular rate. Drift ride-alongs are restricted to passengers ages 18 and older, while indoor drift karting is available for ages 8 and up.

With drifting on the track and anime throughout the venue, Tokyo Takeover gives Japanese car culture and pop culture fans a chance to experience both in one place.

And unlike most anime conventions, this one comes with the smell of burning rubber.
