Florida Geek Scene is Seeking Writers and Contributors
Are you passionate about comics, gaming, pop culture, or the wider world of geek culture? Florida Geek Scene is looking for writers who want to share their knowledge and insight with a growing community of readers.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome contributors who have a strong interest in geek-related topics and a desire to write compelling, well-informed content. Whether you want to explore the history of a particular character, spotlight a favorite creator, review a new comic or video game, or cover a niche topic that deserves more attention, we’d love to hear from you.
You don’t need to be a professional writer to contribute—but if you’re new to writing, we will need to review a sample of your work.
How to Get Started
Please contact us with a brief introduction, outlining your background, areas of interest, and any relevant skills or experience. If you’ve been published before, include links to a few writing samples.
We also ask that you propose the types of articles you’d like to write, including possible topics and formats (reviews, essays, opinion pieces, etc.).
Submission Guidelines
Quality matters more than word count. We typically look for articles of 500 words or more, but engaging, well-crafted content is our top priority.
We encourage contributors to include relevant images with their submissions. Be sure to credit image sources when necessary.
Please include a short bio (2–3 sentences) to accompany your article. You may include links to your personal website or social media profiles. Affiliate links are not permitted without prior approval.
We value individuality—let your voice and perspective come through, but maintain an objective and respectful tone.
Compensation
At this time, we are unable to offer financial compensation for contributions. However, this is a great opportunity to build your portfolio, gain exposure, and reach a dedicated audience.
Additional Notes
We only publish original content that has not been previously posted online.
We reserve the right to edit submissions for clarity, formatting, and alignment with our site’s style.
Upon publication, Florida Geek Scene holds exclusive rights to your article for six months. After that period, you are free to publish the piece elsewhere, though it will remain archived on our site indefinitely.
If you’re interested in contributing, we’d be happy to hear from you.
Important: If you’re part of a writing team looking to promote a product or service through an article, please refer to our advertising page for guidelines.
Thank you—we look forward to reading your work!
