Leo Nocedo: How did you discover cosplaying?
Lauren Scham : I was introduced to cosplay by an ex boyfriend. I had never been to a con before and he told me that we just had to dress up. Thus my love for cosplay was born!

Lauren Scham : Harley Quinn from the Arkham series .
Leo Nocedo: What are your next 3 cosplay plans?
Lauren Scham : Catwoman, Rogue, and a female Sith Lord .
Leo Nocedo: Have you ever been in a cosplay contest?
Lauren Scham : I have been to multiple cosplay contests.I haven’t won anything but have gotten honorable mentions or judge favorite.
Leo Nocedo: Do you prefer sewing, armor making, or wig working?
Lauren Scham : I prefer makeup planning and wig working .
Leo Nocedo: Do you prefer to do photoshoots at cons or at specific locations?
Lauren Scham : Specific locations, they can really make your cosplays come to life .
Leo Nocedo: Is there a type of character you cosplay frequently?
Lauren Scham : I have been doing Silk from the spiderverse a lot lately and even got published in a magazine wearing it .
Leo Nocedo: Do you have any favorite cosplayers?
Lauren Scham : Alyson Tabbitha and Yaya Han are my all time favs .
Leo Nocedo: What’s the most detailed cosplay you’ve ever done?
Lauren Scham : Daenerys Targaryean, this was my most expensive and my wig was what really tied everything together.
Leo Nocedo: What are your top 3 craftsmanship tips?
Lauren Scham : Have a plan, make sure you have everything, wear deoderant .
Leo Nocedo: What is your favorite cosplay you’ve done?
Lauren Scham : Any one of my Sith Lord cosplays, I love the makeup that goes into them and also using my lightsabers .
Leo Nocedo: What is your worst cosplay “horror” story?
Lauren Scham : Probably my first cosplay I did. My Harley Quinn look “looked cheap” but i only grew from there .
Leo Nocedo: What’s your funniest cosplay story?
Lauren Scham : I was cosplaying as Lady Joker, a girl dressed as Captain Marvel came up to me and asked me how I got my skin so white, to which I responded, “this is my real skin.” Yes I really am that pale.
Leo Nocedo: What’s the best in-character interaction you’ve ever had?
Lauren Scham : Anytime i’m dressed as Domino all the Deadpools are really in character.
Leo Nocedo: Have you ever cosplayed with a family member?
Lauren Scham : Not yet, but i’m working on that.
Leo Nocedo: What is your favorite cosplay photo of yourself?
My favorite is when I’m dressed as Lady Joker and I flip the camera off. I had too much fun creating that one.
Leo Nocedo: What are your go-to stores for cosplay materials/full cosplays?
Lauren Scham : Raven’s and Rockers in north Tampa, and Amazon (definitely Amazon) .
Leo Nocedo: Do you prefer to buy pre-styled wigs or style your own?
Lauren Scham : I am such a busy body (full time job/student) I prefer them premade.
Leo Nocedo: Have you ever had someone mistake you for a different character?
Lauren Scham : It has happened a few times, esp with my Lady Joker and Selene

Lauren Scham : Orlando MegaCon .
Leo Nocedo: Do you prefer cosplaying characters with props, or characters that you don’t need to carry a prop around all day?
Lauren Scham : It depends on my mood, I don’t mind carrying a prop if it sells the cosplay .
Leo Nocedo: Have you ever lost a cosplay piece at a con?
Lauren Scham : (knocks on wood) So far I have not .
Leo Nocedo: Have you ever bought a cosplay piece at a con?
Lauren Scham : I have purchased prop guns at cons
Leo Nocedo: Do you prefer to cosplay solo or in a group?
Lauren Scham : I prefer to do my own thing but if i’m with a good group of people I don’t mind groups .
Leo Nocedo: If you had a chance to meet your all-time favorite cosplayer, what would you say to them?
Lauren Scham : “Teach me your ways”.

Lauren Scham : I have not but want to .

Lauren Scham : I prefer to buy, my schedule is so busy I don’t have time to make my own

Lauren Scham : Practice, practice, practice, and don’t listen to what the haters have to say .

Lauren Scham : Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman
Leo Nocedo: What’s the most difficult cosplay you’ve ever done? (Craftsmanship, wearing of, ect)
Lauren Scham : My Arkham Catwoman, the suit doesn’t breath and gets very hot and the cowl likes to stick to my hair .
Leo Nocedo: What’s the most difficult character makeup you’ve done?
Lauren Scham : My Sith Lord makeup, before i knew what i was doing the makeup kept smearing .
Leo Nocedo: What, in your opinion, makes a cosplayer a “pro” cosplayer?
Lauren Scham : Someone who has fun with what they are doing and looks as close to the original source material .
Leo Nocedo: What is your favorite part of cosplaying?
Lauren Scham : I love dressing up, showing off my cosplays and meeting new people .
