Hey, comic fans! It’s time to mark your calendars because the incredible creative trio of Matt Fraction, Terry Dodson, and Rachel Dodson are back at it again with a brand-new chapter in the Adventureman saga. Starting this March, Image Comics will launch a three-issue story arc titled Adventureman: Family Tree, and trust me, this one’s set to be a wild ride.
Picking up after the events of Adventureman: Ghost Lights, the Connell family is diving deep—literally and figuratively—into the roots of the Adventureman legacy. They’ll be uncovering untold tales and family secrets, featuring everything from a luchador dynasty to brutal savate-style kickboxing. Oh, and did I mention a star-crossed teenage romance? Yeah, we’re getting the origin story of Adventureman and Mme. Chagall the Superscientist!
Matt Fraction shared his excitement, saying this arc will bring fresh standalone stories that expand the Adventureman universe while giving Claire, her sisters, and us readers a chance to learn about the pulp heroes of old. It’s a blend of family dynamics and genre-defying storytelling that makes this series so special.
Terry Dodson couldn’t hold back his enthusiasm either. He called this arc his favorite so far, with breakneck action, rich character moments, and some seriously cool new settings and scenarios. “Matt has come up with amazing elements,” Dodson said, adding that they’re tying it all together for a big finale.
Want to get your hands on it? Issue #1 hits comic book shops on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, with two stunning covers: one by Terry Dodson and another by Rion Chow.
Haven’t caught up yet? No problem. Adventureman, Volume One (collecting issues #1-5) is available now. It’s packed with action, heart, and a world that celebrates the power of storytelling.
Fans and critics alike have nothing but praise for the series:
“A fully realized pulp story and family comic held together by metafictional strings… A fan of a type of story finding herself in the middle of one is just good old-fashioned comfort food for dark times.” —Graphic Policy
“Books like these are why I love comics: the sheer audacity, the genuine warmth, the emphasis on why stories matter.” —Black Nerd Problems
“Matt Fraction has something pretty cool brewing here. I’m ready for my second serving.” —SciFi Pulse
So, what are you waiting for? Get ready to gear up with Claire and her family as they take us on another unforgettable adventure. See you in March!
