If you’ve been craving epic fantasy adventure with laugh-out-loud comedy, Image Comics has you covered. D’orc, an all-new ongoing series, launches in February 2026 and promises to be your next obsession.
Meet D’orc: a lonely orphan of mixed dwarf and orc heritage who finds himself disrupting everyone’s carefully laid plans. With only a talking enchanted shield for companionship and a strong yearning for connection, he accidentally gets pulled into the ongoing conflict consuming Sunderaine. This war pits opposing forces against each other in every direction, from the clash between darkness and light to battles involving every imaginable creature. The problem? D’orc is prophesied to bring about the apocalypse. Before long, inhabitants across the realm will learn his identity.
The series comes from artist Brett Bean, known for his work on I Hate Fairyland, along with colorist Jean-François Beaulieu and letterer Nate Piekos. Bean emphasizes his focus on creating characters with genuine flaws and authenticity, even within fantastical settings. The series has already earned praise from Robert Kirkman, who was immediately drawn to the concept and celebrates Bean’s distinctive fantasy storytelling.
D’orc #1 arrives at comic shops on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, with covers by Brett Bean, Jorge Corona, Jason Howard, Ryan Ottley, and Ryan Stegman. It’ll also be available digitally on Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play. Pre-order your copy today!
