I want to take a moment to talk about my friend Leo Nocedo. Leo is a veteran living on Social Security disability, and he’s also a writer and the photographer for FloridaGeekScene.com, where he’s spent years showing up to events, conventions, and local scenes to document what’s happening around Florida.
Recently, the transmission in his vehicle went out completely. That car wasn’t a luxury — it was how Leo got to doctor appointments, picked up groceries and prescriptions, and also how he got to shoots and events. When it stopped running, a lot of everyday life came to a halt.
Leo isn’t someone who likes asking for help. He’s always handled things on his own, even when money was tight. Right now, though, replacing a vehicle just isn’t possible without help. This GoFundMe exists for one reason: to get him into a dependable used car and cover the basic costs so he can get back to moving around safely.
This is about helping a friend stay independent and keep doing what he loves. A working vehicle means Leo can take care of his health, keep contributing to Florida Geek Scene, and not feel cut off from the world.
If you’re able to donate, thank you. If you can’t, sharing this still helps. I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this and support my friend.
