D’orc #2 Sells Out, Second Printing Coming March 25th

Brett Bean’s D’orc keeps selling out. Issue #2 sold out at the distributor level and Image Comics is rushing it back to print. The second printing hits shops March 25th. Issue #1 is also getting a third printing on March 18th.

D’orc #2 has D’orc avoiding wizards and warriors who want him dead because of some doomsday prophecy claiming he’ll destroy the world. He’s too busy dealing with kids who turn out to be time thieves. Plus there’s a Time Lord who sucks. D’orc, his magic shield, and Ghost-chicken-with-its-head-cutoff handle this mess together.

The setup is a half dwarf, half orc orphan who just wants friendship but keeps stumbling into Sunderaine’s never-ending war. Light versus Dark. Elves versus Orcs. Wizards versus Common Sense. Dragons versus everyone. D’orc is caught in the middle, fated to end the world according to prophecy.

Bean mentioned he hears often that “this sort of thing doesn’t happen in comics.” Apparently it can thanks to Image, retailers, and comic fans. The series has pulled endorsements from Matt Dinniman, Robert Kirkman, and Skottie Young.

D’orc blends Conan the Barbarian, Lord of the Rings, and I Hate Fairyland’s deadpan humor. Bean worked on Dungeon Crawler Carl: Crocodile and I Hate Fairyland before this. D’orc is his creator-owned series where he controls everything.

Issue #2 selling out before issue #1’s third printing even drops tells you demand is climbing. If your shop didn’t order enough, ask them to add D’orc to your pull list. Digital versions are available on Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.

March 18th for D’orc #1 third printing. March 25th for D’orc #2 second printing.
