Fireborn Spins Off from Lost Fantasy April 15

Curt Pires, Franklin Jonas, and Patrick Mulholland launch Fireborn from Image Comics on April 15, 2026. The new series spins off from Lost Fantasy, set in the same world.

Aaron Hillburg lives as a rich-kid failson dodging responsibilities, hopping rooftops, and avoiding his billionaire father. A mysterious floating dragon egg bonds to him and awakens ancient magic inside his body.

Every violent outlaw wizard, biker cultist, and supernatural warlord between New York City and The World Beneath now hunts Aaron. They’ll burn the world down to rip the egg from his corpse.

Pires previously worked on Indigo Children and Olympia. Franklin Jonas, a singer/songwriter, co-creates the series. Rising artist Patrick Mulholland handles the art.

Eric Stephenson, Publisher and Chief Creative Officer at Image Comics, praised both creators for delivering big new ideas when comics needs them most. He called the Lost Fantasy universe expansion cool and thrilling.

The series blends fantasy and superheroes targeting fans of Invincible, How To Train Your Dragon, and Absolute Batman. The high octane fusion promises action across both New York City and supernatural realms beneath.

Fireborn #1 arrives April 15, 2026 with fifteen cover variants including Jae Lee foil, Tyler Kirkham variants, and I Hate Fairyland team-up covers. Lost Fantasy #9 releases the same day. Fireborn #2 follows May 27, 2026, with issue #3 hitting shelves June 24, 2026.

Digital editions launch simultaneously on Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play. Lost Fantasy Vol. 1 trade paperback remains available at comic shops and bookstores. Lost Fantasy Vol. 2 trade paperback arrives at comic shops April 22 and bookstores May 12.
