The comic community has always rallied when one of its own is in need — and right now, longtime creator Tom Tenney could really use that support.
A GoFundMe has been launched to help Tom Tenney and his family during an incredibly difficult time. After more than 30 years working in comics, animation, and music — including projects with Marvel, DC, Image, and even AC/DC — Tom is now facing a life-changing health battle that has left him unable to work.
Tom is currently living with advanced COPD, a serious and progressive lung disease that makes even simple tasks like walking or talking exhausting. As his condition has worsened, his ability to earn a living has disappeared — and with it, financial stability for his family.
To make matters even more difficult, Tom’s family is dealing with multiple challenges. His partner is diabetic, and they’re also caring for an autistic daughter who depends on stability and routine. Recently, the family lost their home in Florida and have been struggling to get by — at times sleeping in their car and staying wherever they can while trying to manage serious medical needs.
The fundraiser is focused on covering essential needs like:
- Life-sustaining medications
- Medical care and oxygen support
- Food and basic daily necessities
- Helping keep the family together and safe
This is truly a life-or-death situation, and every donation — no matter how small — can help make a difference. Even sharing the fundraiser can help spread the word and bring support from across the comic community.
If Tom Tenney’s work has ever meant something to you, or if you just want to help a creator in need, now is the time to step up.
