A Decade of Screams Returns to Tampa Bay!

If you’re into horror, cult films, and that old-school convention vibe where things feel a little more personal (and a little more chaotic in a fun way), this is one you’ll want on your radar.

Tampa Bay Screams is back for its 10th anniversary, and it’s leaning all the way into what makes horror fandom so much fun. Taking place May 8th and 9th, 2026, this long-running convention has built a reputation as a true “by fans, for fans” show—spotlighting grindhouse, drive-in classics, indie horror, and all the strange, unforgettable corners of the genre.

This year’s event moves into a larger venue at the Holiday Inn in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area, giving attendees more space to explore and even more to check out throughout the weekend.

One of the biggest draws is the mix of guests and creators. You’ll find horror and sci-fi actors, indie filmmakers, artists, and authors all under one roof, giving the show that gritty, underground feel you don’t always get at bigger conventions.

And then there’s the Dealer’s Dungeon—which is exactly as cool as it sounds. It’s packed with horror collectibles, artwork, décor, and all kinds of offbeat finds you probably didn’t plan on buying… but will anyway.

The event also features a film festival showcasing indie horror and sci-fi projects, adding another layer to the weekend beyond just shopping and guest appearances.

Hours run Friday from 3 PM to 10 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 6 PM, so there’s plenty of time to dig through everything and catch what you want to see.

Tickets are available as single-day or weekend passes, and the event leans more toward a mature audience, keeping that darker horror tone intact.

If you’re into horror movies, underground comics, or just want a convention that feels raw, weird, and completely fan-driven, Tampa Bay Screams is definitely worth checking out.
