Three Issues, Three Sellouts for If Destruction Be Our Lot

Image Comics has another hit on its hands as If Destruction Be Our Lot has sold out issues #1, #2, and #3 at the distributor level. The publisher announced on August 7 that all three issues are being rushed back to print to keep up with demand.

The sci-fi series comes from co-writers Matthew Rosenberg and Mark Elijah Rosenberg, artist Andy MacDonald, colorist Francesco Segala, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.

The story takes place after humanity has gone extinct, leaving behind the robots that once served us. Among them is Abe, a robotic version of Abraham Lincoln who isn’t satisfied with the routine life the remaining robots have built. Abe sets out beyond the city in search of something more, even if the journey ends with him being recycled.

The new printings will feature new cover art by Andy MacDonald with colors by Francesco Segala. The third printing of #1 and second printings of #2 and #3 are scheduled to arrive in comic shops on September 2, 2026.

Meanwhile, If Destruction Be Our Lot #4 is scheduled for August 19, giving readers a chance to keep up with Abe’s strange journey while the earlier issues head back to press.

With all three issues selling out at the distributor level, If Destruction Be Our Lot is quickly establishing itself as one of Image Comics’ breakout new sci-fi series of 2026.
