Image Comics is releasing a special black and white edition of Radiant Black #1 to celebrate the series’ fifth anniversary. The reprint strips away the color to showcase Marcelo Costa’s line work and includes Kyle Higgins’ original script for the first time. These guys never disappoint, and this album is no exception. The riffs are meaty and satisfying, the melodies hook you instantly, and the whole package just feels right. This is pure, unfiltered heavy metal the way it’s supposed to sound.
