FT-LauderdaleCon is Happening January 4th
8SHARESFT-LauderdaleCon is back on Sunday, January 4th, 2026 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, and if you haven’t been before, you’re missing out. This thing has turned into one of the best pop culture shows in South Florida. Doors open at 10am and it runs until 5pm.
Tickets are $20, kids under 11 get in free. Parking is $5. The hotel is right near the Broward County Convention Center, two miles from the beach if you want to make a day of it.
Walking into this show is like stepping into every collector’s dream room. Dealers bring boxes of comics going back decades. Rare toys still in the package. Anime merch you won’t find in regular stores. Sports cards, wrestling memorabilia, video games, records, original artwork. Everything spread out where you can actually hold it, flip through it, check the condition yourself.
Greg Dulcie is coming. If you’ve watched One Piece, Chainsaw Man, My Hero Academia, or Fullmetal Alchemist, you’ve heard him. Meeting the person behind those voices face-to-face is something else. Dr. Bill Slevin will be there too—demonologist and parapsychologist who runs The Devil’s Academy. His panels always pack the room.
Local artists set up with prints, commissions, and original pieces. One Stop Comic Shop is doing CGC submissions and witness services if you’ve been sitting on books you want graded. The cosplay contest at 4pm brings out incredible costumes. People put serious work into those, and watching them on stage is one of the highlights.
You run into people who are obsessed with the same obscure show or character as you are. You spot something on a table and end up in a twenty-minute conversation about where it came from or what series it’s connected to. You see collections you didn’t even know existed. Someone’s wearing a costume from a show you thought only you remembered. That’s what makes these shows worth going to.
The Embassy Suites has an outdoor pool if you need a break. Sun Trolley stops outside. They run shuttles to the airport and cruise port at a discount if you’re coming from further out.
