Youngblood #100 Brings Together Comic Book Legends

Back in 1992, Youngblood was one of the titles that helped put Image Comics on the map. More than thirty years later, the series is reaching a milestone that few comics ever achieve with the release of issue #100.

To mark the occasion, creator Rob Liefeld has assembled an impressive group of comic book creators to contribute variant covers. The lineup includes Todd McFarlane, Marc Silvestri, Erik Larsen, Jim Valentino, Whilce Portacio, and Robert Kirkman.

For readers who grew up during the early Image era, seeing those names connected to the same project feels like a reunion. Many of these creators helped shape the direction of comics throughout the 1990s and beyond, and their involvement adds another layer of significance to the anniversary issue.

The release of Youngblood #100 is also the starting point for the “Summer of Youngblood,” which will bring additional stories and projects featuring characters from the franchise. One of the first announcements is a new solo title starring Badrock, one of the series’ most recognizable characters.

Comic books rarely reach 100 issues anymore, especially creator-owned titles. That makes this release notable on its own. Add in the collection of artists involved and the history behind the series, and Youngblood #100 becomes one of those books that longtime comic readers will probably want to pick up when it arrives on store shelves.
